Customer Experience Center App
Overview
To demonstrate their innovative networking solutions in their new Customer Experience Center part of their brand new all wireless, LEED certified headquarters in Santa Clara, California, Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, was looking for a mobile application platform that would bring together the latest innovations in connected office, retail, and hospitality technology. Visitors to the center would be guided through a mobile experience that interacts with Aruba and 3rd Party technologies to show off Aruba’s Mobile-First vision in their physical space.
Solutions
As an Aruba Meridian Engage program partner, Emerge was selected to design and develop the native iOS companion app that leads the way through the space. In a two-day UX workshop at the Emerge headquarters, Emerge and Aruba stakeholders fleshed out all the touchpoints of the experience before Emerge started creating the visual design framework of the application.
The Customer Experience Center contains multiple areas that resemble different real-world applications. For this project we focused on areas that represented a reception area, a large public sports venue, a cafe, a retail store, and a hospitality room. Using Bluetooth technology embedded in Aruba’s network infrastructure, the Meridian platform allows pinpointing a person’s indoor location with GPS-like precision, which is a capability we wanted to incorporate in the customer experience. Throughout the CEC we focused on creating personalized encounters, such as welcoming visitors personally when they enter the space, allowing them to place a cafe order that would be delivered to them based on their detected location and order history, and a retail application that provides them in-store directions to products of their interest.
The app they delivered is critical to how we bring in customers and showcase our products. Our space is different and the visitor experience is distinct. That uniqueness generates sales and we couldn’t have achieved it without Emerge.

Results
It’s a tall order being asked to create an experience representing such a cutting edge organization. Indoor turn-by-turn navigation, location based notifications, TEEM conference room reservations with Skype for Business and Outlook integration, and point-of-sale system integrations are just some of the enterprise ecosystem features that the app showcases. This project proves how the Aruba Meridian platform allows Emerge to provide our clients with comprehensive, end-to-end mobile and IoT solutions.
